NEW DELHI: FMCG Emami Ltd on Tuesday announced more than three times its consolidated net profit at Rs 87.73 crore for the quarter ended March 31.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 22.75 crore in the March quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Its operating income in January-March 2021 jumped 37.2% to Rs 730.76 crore from Rs 532.68 crore a year ago, Emami said in a regulatory filing.

Emami said that by leveraging an improved demand scenario coupled with an increased focus on health and hygiene products, the company has consistently generated large-scale growth for brands, channels and businesses of January to March 2021.

Emami Director Mohan Goenka said the company’s domestic business grew 44% and international business by 28% in the March 2021 quarter and that “we continued to improve our sales and profitability. quarter to quarter “.

Emami chief executive Harsha V Agarwal said all of the company’s major brands grew by more than 30% in the quarter, with the performance of the healthcare line leading the growth chart.

“With a focus on digitization and advanced business strategies, we are confident that we will continue the long-term growth momentum despite the second wave of COVID-19,” he added.

Shares of Emami Ltd fell 2.30 percent on Tuesday to close at Rs 499.75 each on BSE.
