Illegal dumping is a growing problem north of Pasco-Basin City

In the near future, more Franklin County Sheriff’s Department patrols will need to be used for northern Franklin County, west of Mesa, due to the illegal dumping.


These photos are from a location near West Klamath and Glade Road North. Other locations include southern Basin City and western Mesa.

This land in question is leased, but deputies are apparently saying some people believe it is open for use as a landfill.

Rubbish equivalent to one cubic meter (3x3x3 feet) is a serious offense and if you get caught, it’s not exactly cheap. If you are arrested, it is also likely that you are responsible for cleanup and disposal.

Yes, we’re pretty sure officials have searched to see if they can find any envelopes or other items with people’s names/addresses on them.
